It was a big year. The PGA worked across a wide range of legislative, regulatory and industry issues on behalf of members in 2025, from firearms and pastoral lease renewals to biosecurity threats, water rights and animal welfare. Some battles were won. Others are still being fought.
Members gathered at open forums in York and Broome, the latter including a tour of the new KMSB Floating Wharf facility. The PGA also attended the KPCA annual conference and engaged with grain industry bodies including CBH, GPA and GIWA. On the ground, the year brought a Khapra beetle detection in the eastern states, ongoing LiveEx transition challenges, and the rollout of eID tags and new NVD requirements for cattle, sheep and goats.
