Grain Growers Warned: Kwinana Terminal Dispute Will Hit Farmers’ Bottom Line
10 April 2026
The devastated families of rail crash victims have released a social media video calling on Australian state and federal governments to legislate mandatory train safety and visibility lighting standards in conjunction with the peak trucking industry body the Australian Trucking Association (ATA).
The families have created a video showing the tragic impact of rail crashes in rural and regional Australia. It features ATA CEO Mathew Munro, Australian country
music legend Lee Kernaghan OAM and Lara Jensen who represents the families of rail crash victims killed in rural and regional rail crossing crashes.
With many Australian families about to set off on their Easter travels, the social media video under media embargo until Tuesday 31st March(6.00am WST) is a timely reminder of a rail safety gap that has the potential to turn a family celebration into a preventable tragedy.
This issue can devastate families at any time of the year, but peak holiday travel times underscore why mandatory safety lighting on trains can’t wait.
