PGA PAYS TRIBUTE TO VISIONARY BUCKERIDGE
2014-03-11
The Pastoralists and Graziers’ Association (PGA) has paid tribute to deceased Perth business magnate Len Buckeridge, calling the James Point Private Port Chairman a true visionary and industry leader.
PGA President Tony Seabrook said Mr Buckeridge was a staunch advocate for progress and development in the State and his contribution to industry would be greatly missed.
“Len can only be described as a true industry leader,” Mr Seabrook said.
“Len’s great vision and staunch advocacy for the development of the James Point Private Port was tempered with honesty and integrity.”
“The PGA was privileged to work with Len on the proposed James Point Private Port and it is regretful that this visionary project, which would of moved live exports out of Fremantle, failed to materialise due to stiff opposition from successive State Governments.”
“Our thoughts are with his wife Tootsie and his children.”
